Sweet Scones

image

We met again on Friday 22nd October and we baked sweet scones this time! Maybe some of you tried out our Herb Scone recipe from last week!

Thank you for your nice comments!

For sweet scones you will need:

200g self raising flour

50g of butter

2 tablespoons of sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

125ml of milk

We mixed the dry ingredients and then added the wet ingredients.

We cut out the scones and then we baked them  for 10 minutes.

We ate  them  while they were warm.

They were delicious with butter and jam.

Try making  them at home.

Tell us how you get on.

Harvesting in the School Garden!

Tuesday 4th October 2016

After lunch we walked to the school garden and we collected some thyme, rosemary, carrots and apples (one of them was massive!). We gathered some chives. We are getting our cooking group up and running again this year!

Last week we cooked a sweet omelette with apples and cinnamon.

The week before that we cooked a savory omelette with herbs from the aquaponics tank.

A Big Welcome for Mary!

We all enjoyed a lovely visit by Mary Hulgraine to school on Friday. Mary is the goalkeeper for the Kildare Ladies’ Intermediate Team who are  the All Ireland Intermediate Champions. We were delighted and very proud to welcome Mary as she is also a past pupil of our school. Mary brought the cup with her, which is called the Mary Quinn Memorial cup, and all the classes from 3rd-6th went to the library to meet Mary and see the cup. Some of us were lucky enough to hold it! She answered lots of our questions and it was great to see the cup up close. We all enjoyed Mary’s visit very much. Congratulations to Mary and the team from all of us here in St Laurence’s NS and our very best wishes for the future.

Cill Dara Abú!
