Rugby Season So Far

on November 24, 2017

School rugby is back again for another year. We have four teams this year, A, B, C and D. The teams are made up of students from 3rd to 6th class. We have been training since Halloween and we have played two matches since then.

For our first match we travelled to Castleknock in Dublin. In this match it was only the A team playing because it was against 1st years. It was a very wet and windy day so the conditions were very hard to play in. After a tight first half Castleknock led by 5 points. We came back strong in the second half and pulled it back to a draw. They brought on their subs and that won it for them.

Training resumed on Tuesday and each team had a match against C.U.S the following week. Going into this match we were hoping for a win after losing our last match. The conditions were fine that day. The A team had a brilliant 1st half and by the time the whistle blew they were up 42-0. They kept their great lead in the second half and the game finished 75-0. We had the stronger teams on the day as three out of four teams won.

Well done to all the teams and we can’t wait for our next match!
